dr dre beats 431x500

After he was the only Hip-Hop artist in Forbes’ “Highest Paid Celebrity list” last month, it is no surprise that Dr. Dre takes the top spot on the Forbes list of top Hip-Hop earners as well, thanks to his $100 million earning when phone maker HTC bought 51% stake in his Beats By Dre company in 2011. Diddy comes in at the 2nd spot mainly due to his Ciroc vodka. Jay-Z is third, thanks to his Watch The Throne tour with Kanye and business deals with Duracell and Budweiser.

  1. Potholes In My Blog » Forbes Releases Hip-Hop Top 20 List Of 2012 - 05. Sep, 2012

[...] After making an appearance on Forbes’ top paid celebrities list, Dr. Dre comes in first on the top earners list in hip-hop as well. That comes from HTC purchasing 51% of his coveted Beats By Dre brand, of course. Jay-Z and Diddy also touch down in the top three, using their business savvy to pull them to the top of the list yet again. I’d also like to bring attention to Mac Miller, who pulled in a whopping $6.5 million. A rather incredible feat for an independent artist. Apparently Forbes thinks Pitbull is a hip-hop artist, too.
