Drake is promoting his third album Nothing Was The Same which is in stores nationwide today (here’s our copy). He paid a visit to Power 106 LA this morning and spoke to Big Boy about a number of topics including his current relationship with Nicki Minaj, the concept behind ‘Tuscan Leather’, his funny memes, Kendrick’s ‘Control’ verse where Drizzy was named and collaboration on Justin Timberlake’s new album The 20/20 Experience 2 (stream here).

When the ‘Control’ discussion came up, Drake expressed his opinion on it and definitely didn’t sound too pleased. According to him, it “just came and went.” Drake said he isn’t dying to collaborate with Kendrick and because K. Dot went off at everybody on the verse, probably none of the artists will end up being on his (Kendrick’s) next album since it will become odd. Hmmm.

Drake is right with everything he said. Kendrick had a good first album, but anyone can have a good FIRST album. You at least need a good sophomore album to be so conceited, but Drake still gave him credit “he’ll be good, he nice”.. How is that being over emotional? Drake was also right about now people gonna expect Kendrick to spit fire at people all the time and either way he gonna lose cause it’s either gonna get old, or people gonna think he scared to take risks. Drake is a musical genius, so it wasn’t smart to call out someone who could make your track hot in the future but that’s little Kenny’s loss. NOTHING WAS THE SAME
