With the 10 year anniversary of Jay Z’s Black Album coming up(the album was officially released on November 14th, 2003), long time friend of Jay and one of the contributing producers to the project Pharrell sits down with Life + Times to discuss the Black Album.

This hit-filled project stands out amongst Hov’s 13 others because if you remember, Jay announced his “retirement” after dropping the Black Album, which shocked the hip hop community. Although, that lasted for what seemed like 5 minutes and the hip hop mogul went on to sell 5 more successful albums afterwards. Hit the jump to hear Pharrell speak on the Black Album and the importance that came from it. Can’t believe it’s already been 10 years.
