The streaming wars have officially gone to the next level tonight.
The highly awaited LilWeezyAna Fest held by Lil Wayne went down in New Orleans tonight with Tidal being the official broadcaster of the live stream. The festival benefits Tha Carter Fund, which supports after-school programs in Louisiana. Weezy put up one hell of a show with special guests including the Hot Boys (with BG’s mom), Master P and even Drake. But Tidal was forced to cut off the stream during Drake’s brief set where he performed ‘My Way’, ‘HYFR’ and of course ‘Back To Back’ with Lil Wayne playing the hypeman (watch full video here).
Page Six earlier reported that Apple had threatened to sue Tidal beforehand for $20 million if they streamed the performance from Drake who has his own deal with Apple.
As a result, Tidal was forced to comply but they made sure they tweeted their anger towards Tim Cook’s company, alleging “interfering with artistry”.
1/2 Apple is interfering with artistry and will not allow this artist to stream. Sorry for Big Brotherās inconvenience.

2/2 We'll be back after the performance.
