Good afternoon, all. We took a break from this series last week but we’re now back in full effect with the latest edition of Saturday Spotlight. This week we present Mir Fontane, Dutch ReBelle, XSO, Nephew 100 and Brandon Russell. Enjoy!
Remember: We take submissions for this series. Please see guidelines here.
Mir Fontane
Mir Fontane is from South Jersey and for his latest song ‘WANNI WAG’, he links up with fellow Jersey native Ish Williams who he has good chemistry with. In case you’re not aware, it’s a nod to ex-Cleveland Cavaliers guard and Camden, NJ native Dajuan Wagner. Listen to it below.
Dutch ReBelle
About a month back, Boston rapper Dutch ReBelle dropped Kiss Kiss, her 6 song EP. She recently shot a visual for ‘Whatchu Like’ which appears on the project and is produced by Black Metaphor. If you like what you see, you’ll be glad to know that there will be more videos dropping before 2015 is over. Watch below.
XSO
The trio of Paije, Jaz and Mia have been making their rounds in recent months, with appearances at The Source Magazine’s 360 Weekend and Streets 94.5′ BET Hip-Hop Awards Celebration too. If that wasn’t enough, they’re also currently on tour with Monica and Rico Love. Check out their latest release ‘It’s Whatever’ below.
Nephew 100
Nephew 100 is a rapper from out of North Carolina who, on his single ‘Ain’t Fallin In Love’, links up with big name producer Zaytoven. If you’ve been a fan of Future this year, this sound is pretty similar and should appeal to you. Watch Nephew on his paper chase below.
Brandon Russell
Earlier this week, up and coming rapper from the DMV Brandon Russell liberated ‘Hopeless’. It’s a Jazz-inspired song produced by Weird Inside on which he grabs the assistance of syl for a verse. If you’re looking for some more mellow vibes, be sure to take a listen to it below.
