Kevin Gates has been batting legal issues for months now, after being sentenced to 180 days in jail for kicking a female fan in he chest at concert in 2015. He was freed from jail in Florida a few days ago but immediately held at Cook County jail in Illinois for separate charges stemming from 2013.
You all KNOW that Kevin and I have always preferred to avoid statements to the media. We speak directly to you guys and prefer to let the music speak for itself. Although Kevin is not a free man yet, he will be soon! In the meantime, I am SO excited to share this song from HIM to you all! He done been to hell and back, He done been to jail and back… To listen to #whatif check out link in my bio and at @iamkevingates
While fans wait for the Baton Rouge, Louisiana rap star to come home and get back to music, his label Bread Winners’ Association has released a new song from him called ‘What If’. Gates flips the famous “What if God was one of us” lyric from Joan Osborne’s song to create his own anthem.
Whether this song is from an upcoming project is not known at this point. Stream it below.
