CyHi the Prynce Says Kanye is Buying Whole Catalogs of Artists For Sampling on New Beats

CyHi the Prynce has been making media rounds lately in promotion of his debut album No Dope on Sundays which is getting a good response from fans and critics.

His latest stop was on Hot 97 radio station in New York where he chatted with Ebro, Laura Stylez and Peter Rosenberg about the new album, how he got A-list guest appearances on it, the meaning behind the title, why it took so long for him to release his debut album, saying true to his craft and more.

But there is hardly a CyHi interview without a conversation about Kanye West who executive produced No Dope on Sundays. At the 10:50 mark, CyHi begins to talk about what ‘Ye has been up to lately. He reveals that he’s been in the studio creating multiple beats every day from scratch and contributing to upcoming albums from G.O.O.D. Music artists and affiliates, Pusha T, Kid Cudi and Teyana Taylor.

He also tells something interesting — that Kanye is acting like the old him and sampling a lot of classic records. So much so that he’s been hitting up record labels to buy off whole catalogs of certain artists for sampling on his new beats. CyHi didn’t take any names though. Looks like we are in for an eventful 2018. Watch the interview below.
