Eminem Advises Young Artists To Study Music of Hip-Hop’s Forefathers

Eminem has always been a very global artist who has popularity in such parts of the world where English is not even one of the top languages. The rapper has done many interviews with French radio station Skyrock in the past so it was only right that they continued the tradition.

Em, who recently released his latest album Revival in December to a mixed response, spoke to the host about how Beyonce ended up being on the first single ‘Walk on Water’ where Skylar Grey was the original singer of the hook, why he records 40-50 songs each time he’s making an album, the different layers to his personality and more.

Towards the end, Em spoke on the new generation of rappers who are often criticized for not respecting some of the veterans who came before them. Eminem says he is aware that some of the young emcees don’t pay proper homage and then advises them to go back and listen to artists like Rakim, Naughty By Nature, Big Daddy Kane and Kool G Rap to learn a thing or two. “I would suggest, just for the fun of it if anything,” said Shady in his suggestion.
