SZA Updates Fans: “My voice is not permanently damaged”

Late last month, SZA revealed to fans that her voice had been permanently damaged in a series of tweets which were later deleted. This is after Top Dawg CEO had said in a statement: “Her vocal cords are swollen and she has to rest her voice to prevent any permanent damage.”

The singer had to take a break from the ongoing TDE Championship Tour due to swollen vocal cords and was seeing doctors to try and repair the damage. Fans were scared that SZA was in danger of losing her voice forever which might eventually hurt her career, but it looks like the singer has successfully avoided that situation.

In a tweet earlier today (Sunday), SZA revealed that her voice was “not permanently damaged” and thanked her “incredible team of doctors and vocal technicians” for working with her. See the tweet above. A few hours later, she put her vocals to test as she returned to the stage at this weekend’s Delaware’s Firefly Festival. Watch some highlights below. We’re glad she’s doing better.
