Some disappointed fans have discovered that Kanye West’s debut album The College Dropout is no longer available to stream on Apple Music and YouTube.
The issue was first brought up in a Reddit thread where some users posted screenshots of songs from Ye’s album greyed out on Apple Music, as you can see in the photo posted below. When one user reached out to Apple Music support asking why he wasn’t able to stream the album on their service, they revealed that the set had been pulled by “the record label.” The College Dropout was released in 2004 via Def Jam Recordings and Roc-A-Fella Records.

The album sold 441k copies in the first week and went on to win a GRAMMY for “Best Rap Album.” It is till date considered to be one of the best albums of Kanye’s career. The reason for taking down the album has not been specified yet but HHNM has reached out to Def Jam for a comment. It’s interesting to note that Apple Music and YouTube are the only two major services where the album is missing. It’s still actively playing on Spotify.
