Jim Jones is the latest rapper to pay tribute to George Floyd through music.
The Dipset rapper has shared a new song called ‘The People’ with production coming from Harry Fraud. On the record, Jim addresses his killing in Minneapolis, Police brutality, Donald Trump’s mishandling of the current protests in America and more.
“Kaep took a knee, but I think it’s time to take a stand, that crooked cop put his knee on the neck of a sacred man / We still searching for equal rights inside this racist land, it all started when Columbus docked here to take the land / With the spirits of the Haitians, we take the power or the land back … every time we dig our way out, we sinking like a sand trap,” he raps.
Jimmy has also announced on Instagram that all the proceeds from streaming revenue of this track goes to George Floyd’s family. Listen below.
