Saweetie Says Debut Album ‘Pretty Bitch Music’ Will Feature More Than 17 Songs

Saweetie has been working on her debut album Pretty Bitch Music for quite some time now. Over the past several months, she has been able to deliver two hits, ‘Back To The Streets‘ with Jhene Aiko and ‘Best Friend‘ with Doja Cat.

The rapper has been quite tight lipped about her plans surrounding the much anticipated album but on Monday, she sat down with Issa Rae on Apple Music to reveal that it will feature more than 17 songs. “It’s looking like more than 17 songs,” said the Bay Area artist, with Issa reacting with an “Okayyy.”

“Yes, girl. It’s hella long,” Saweetie added. “I’m really excited. I really am. I feel like this is the first time… I used to struggle with my sound. I didn’t know how to properly deliver. I couldn’t find producers who made sense with my brand and my voice because all those things were congruently to make a good song. I definitely feel like Icy Girl and High Maintenance were highly produced, great sound quality bodies of work, but I still feel like people didn’t understand me. And while in quarantine people have learned about me through my content. I think this is a time for people to get to know me through my music, which is so important to me,” she said. Saweetie also chopped it up with Angela Yee for International Women’s Day where she spoke about how online hate in her initial years of fame made her tougher.
