Attorney Tony Buzbee, who was the lawyer for the anonymous woman that filed a rape case against Jay-Z, has finally responded to the latest developments in the fiasco. For the uninitiated, Jane Doe accused Jay-Z of rape and later recanted and went back on her story saying she never met the rapper.
Now, Tony Buzbee, who was countersued by Jay-Z in the aftermath of their filing of the case has claimed that the woman was paid to go back on her word. According to Buzbee, the reversal is both “irrelevant and inflammatory” as well as “bought-and-paid-for.”
“Carter and his attorneys are now advancing testimony that they either know is probably false and perjurious, or, at best, know is offered by a witness (Jane Doe) that they have spent two years calling inherently unreliable, and who has repeatedly offered sworn testimony that is directly contrary to the testimony they secured by dismissing her,” Buzbee’s attorneys claim.
While Jane Doe claimed she wasn’t paid during her sworn testimony, she was dropped from Jay-Z’s countersuit, which means Jay is only suing Buzbee and his associates in retaliation. What do you think really happened?
