What’s the word HHNMers? Today’s Saturday so we’re back with another great edition of our Saturday Spotlight series, where I’ll be introducing you to 5 promising upcomers you’ll be sure to keep up with. To kick off the new month, we have new music from Starrz, Franc Grams, Twoiney Lo, Nikko Lafre, and Al Rogers. Enjoy!
Remember: We take submissions for this series. Please see guidelines here.
Starrz
First up, we have Baltimore emcee Starrz and his awesome new single ‘Oprah’ produced by Jay Feddy. With some auto-tune inspiration, Starrz makes it clear he has an infatuation with money, like most of us do. This instrumental is a great backdrop for Starrz to do his thing and I can see this new hit ringing off in the clubs. Enjoy it below and cop Starrz’ recent mixtape Live Forever Die Dope.
Franc Grams
Allow Connecticut emcee, Franc Grams, to re-introduce himself. He’s saved himself from some poor decisions with his career in his past and is now setting the record straight as to why he deserves to make music and be heard. With that being said, the passionate emcee delivers his 11-track project titled Let’s Start Over and it’s sounding awesome. Stream the full thing below and head over to iTunes to purchase the full project.
Twoiney Lo
Next up is Twoiney Lo, a 17-year old emcee residing in Baltimore as well. Today, the young, strong-minded spitter returns with another uplifting and inspirational track titled “Tell Me” produced by Cool Yetti. Despite only being 17, Twoiney has a mature state-of-mind and he understands what it’ll take for him to reach his goals. Avoiding distractions, Twoiney shows us his passion in this new heater and for those out there who need a focus on something, this track is for you. Enjoy it below and watch out for this kid.
Nikko Lafre
After hearing his intro track a month ago, I knew Nikko Lafre had major potential with his new project Survival: Face The World. Fast-forwarding to today, the aforementioned project is finally here and the quality and the transitions will have you locked away for the rest of the day. The 10-track, featureless, project is a great start to what Nikko has in store for the rest of the year. Stream the full thing below and be sure to cop Survival: Face The World on iTunes.
Al Rogers Jr.
Last, but certainly not least, is 24-year old lyricist Al Rogers Jr and his new track ‘ThePlace’. While this track won’t live on Al’s forthcoming project Baby AL, the Baltimore emcee wanted to elude a new offering to hold us over and ‘ThePlace’ is the perfect way to do it. Giving his own spin on Inc’s popular track, Al shows us why he has what it takes to be here for a while — versatility. Enjoy the new track below and look out for Al in the future.
