What seemed like only a matter of time, Chief Keef has been dropped from Interscope Records. Keef dropped his debut album Finally Rich under the label and moved 50,000 records in the first week, and just under 200,000 to date.
The news of him being dropped was first broken by AllHipHop, who had unnamed sources say things like, “Keef and his people tried to keep the label accountable (once Keef moved to Los Angeles) but Interscope didn’t seem interested in dropping a new album. Keef’s team tried to have formal meetings but nothing moved.” Since then, Keef has confirmed being dropped via a Twitter post where he tells his brother that he’s been dropped for a week.
What do you think about this decision? Was it the right move? Weigh in below.
