Happy Independence Day, HHNMers! We’re sure that you’re going to be celebrating the Fourth of July all throughout this weekend so let this week’s Saturday Spotlight serve as an introduction for some potential music to ride out to. Today we bring you Howie Dodat, D. Di’Yari and Mélat. Enjoy!
Remember: We take submissions for this series. Please see guidelines here.
Howie Dodat
First up is Howie Dodat who is ‘Stuntin Like It’s Summer’ with his new record ‘S.L.I.S.’ and its visual. Howie is one of the emerging talents from New York’s underground scene but he doesn’t have plans of staying there for long. With shows booked at some of the city’s best known venues, he’s making a name for himself at a steady but respectable rate. In his latest video, he flashes the fruits of his labour. Check it out below.
D. Di’Yari
If you were having trouble finding some new bangers from fresh artists for the weekend, look no further. D. Di’Yari comes through with a creative video for ‘Playmaker’, his grimy single which should be blasting out of your speakers repeatedly this Summer. The infectious instrumental and D. Di’Yari’s street style is a winning combo. Watch the visual below and stay tuned for the NY rapper’s project which is slated for a 2015 release.
Mélat
Last up for this week is Austin singer Mélat. Featuring a Jigga sample from ‘Girls, Girls, Girls’ over Robbie Anthem’s instrumental, her new record aims to sweeten up your weekend and even your entire Summer. In under two weeks on July 15th, Mélat will release her EP It Happens So Fast and if the vibe of the project is similar to this, we’re interested and you should be too. Hear ‘Sexy Us’ below.
