When speaking to the Joe Budden Podcast crew, Kehlani admitted that the COVID-19 pandemic did delay her album release plans slightly, but not as much as you might think considering how understandably timid artists are about releasing their LPs right now.
Kehlani is soldiering on just a few weeks behind schedule and tonight, she finally releases her new album It Was Good Until It Wasn’t, led by some pre-album release song drops that we enjoyed. Jhene Aiko, Tory Lanez, James Blake, Masego and Lucky Daye appear across the 15 tracks on the project which you can stream in full below.
During a recent interview with Nadeska on Apple Music (airing tomorrow), Kehlani revealed that Drake was the one who helped her come up with the album title. “We’re just having like, a life conversation, talking about the old music and all. And then I was just talking about personal life, I was just like, ‘Man, yeah it was good until it wasn’t’ and he was like, ‘Say that sh*t again,’ and I was like ‘What?’ and he was like ‘That’s your album.’ And then I was like, ‘You might be f*ckin’ right.'”
