Frank Ocean Pulls Out Of Coachella Week 2, Releases Statement About 1st Week

As many anticipated and feared, Frank Ocean will not perform at Coachella this weekend.

Fans were very excited for the artist’s first performance in years which took place on Sunday but for various reasons, it wasn’t up to par with what people expected. An ice rink design was reportedly scrapped last minute and the singer was barely visible on stage, with 2-3 minutes of silence between each song. He also showed up late and left abruptly due to the curfew. It was rumoured that this will partly due to him sustaining an injury and now that has been confirmed.

It has been announced that the singer will not take the stage due to a doctor’s advice this weekend and Blink-182 will replace him. He has also released a statement about his performance over the weekend, saying the following: “It was chaotic. There is some beauty in chaos. It isn’t what I intended to show but I did enjoy being out there and I’ll see you soon.”

Check out the official statement below.

“After suffering an injury to his leg on festival grounds in the week leading up to weekend 1. Frank Ocean was unable to perform the intended show but was still intent on performing, and in 72 hours, the show was reworked out of necessity. On doctor’s advice, (Ocean) is not able to perform weekend 2 due to two fractures and a sprain in his left leg.”
