The announcement of 3 Stacks dropping an album’s worth of new music this week brought Hip-Hop to a standstill… until people realised that there wasn’t going to be a single rhyme on the album.
Many are still excited for what he’s bringing to the table musically in 2023 though and tonight, we get to find out.
André 3000 is back with his first new body of work since OutKast’s Idlewild dropped in 2006. It’s called New Blue Sun and is filled with eight tracks of experimental flute music. So when Killer Mike came out and said that 3 Stacks was readying a new album in June, he technically wasn’t lying or wrong.
I heard the new Andre 3000 album. It's long, it has a lot of moody, ambient sounds and almost zero drums.
I doubt many hip hop fans will be able to get through the entire 1 hour 27 min long album.
