Tinashe Follows Up Strong on ‘Nasty’ with New Single ‘Getting No Sleep’: Listen

Tinashe, all the craze on reels and TikTok currently (courtesy of her viral single, ‘Nasty‘) is back with another hit titled, ‘Getting No Sleep’. The artist has once again taken the sensual approach to her songwriting, and delivered a radio ready single that is centered around yet another catchy hook and bridge combo.

This one, however, is more understated than ‘Nasty’, and perhaps in the best way possible. The artist takes on a different role with this one, and talks about getting hardly any sleep with her new lifestyle. Riding an unconventional pop beat that features fast drum breaks (often heard in more traditional drum and bass tracks), Tinashe delivers laid back vocals with reverb dipped ad libs that fill up the stereo width. Unlike DnB, however, the bass on this is minimal, and the drums don’t feel as busy, providing ample pockets for her to do her thing without clashing.

The single is out to follow up on the momentum from her last release, while adding on to the snowball effect before the release of a larger body of work titled, ‘Quantum Baby’, which is available for pre-save here. The cover features Tinashe in red wearing shades, leaning back on the inside of a car with foggy windows, further alluding to the pop-star’s steamy brand persona.

This, of course, is complimented by a photo series that the fans are eating up, and rightly so. I mean, look at the confidence she exudes! Although, it is not a surprise, for the artist has been releasing music since 2012.

The artist was also last seen chatting it up with Sway Calloway of Sway In The Morning, where Sway gave Tinashe her well deserved flowers for sustaining the way she has in the industry. The two talk about her inspiration (rooted in Janet Jackson), her definition of success, her ideas of sexual liberation and much more. Check out the full interview here!

Now, we know you’re probably aching to check out her new music — but don’t worry, we got you. Check it out below!
