GORDO Announces Debut Album ‘DIAMANTE’ & Its Release Date

GORDO (FKA Carnage), the Grammy nominated genre-fluid producer and DJ, has just unveiled his debut album project, ‘Diamante’. It is deemed to be the artist’s most personal sonic saga thus far.

The album comes out July 26, 2024.

Speaking on the creation of the album, GORDO reveals how “…it (the album) features work from artists I’ve looked up to and artists who inspire me, some I’ve known for years and others I’ve met more recently”. Well, who are these artists? For starters, fans can expect to hear talented musicians such as Nicki Nicole, Feid, Maluma, Young Dolph, Sech and more!

The album artwork features GORDO sitting on a boardwalk, gazing confidently onward as a lush, green backdrop sprawls around him in the distance. It is a candid shot of the producer, taken by photographer Ivan Amet Achao Acuna, and beautifully represents the simple vulnerability and intimate genuinity that the album is poised to represent as far as GORDO’s personhood outside the artist persona is concerned.

Retiring his erstwhile persona as manifest in Carnage, GORDO has, over time, embraced a different path — one that is more personal, and full of artistic freedom. The album will encapsulate this transformational journey, and will be come out as an ode to GORDO’s family and friends and all their support through his arduous journey in the industry. Having produced for artists like Nicki Minaj, Drake, Sexxy Red and even Bad Bunny, the producer has now set the terms himself on the project and chosen the off-beat path, honoring his status as the #1 Hispanic DJ (as crowned by DJ Mag)

Speaking on the process and mood of the 15-track self-titled project, GORDO aka Diamante reminisces and states, ““This album embodies all my different tastes and personalities, from what I listen to, to what I play live, who I am as an artist, but most importantly, who Diamante is. It’s my most personal work to date and comes from a place of love and authenticity. Most of the album’s production was done at home in Hawaii. I would produce until 6 PM, then I’d take a break, sit on my terrace, and watch the sunset while listening to the album and taking it all in. It’s an album you can listen to at home and at a 5 AM rave; it can be the pinnacle of your night or the perfect come-down after a long day. I can’t wait to show you what I’ve been working on.” ” With that, the only thing remaining is a trial-by-listen, so stay tuned for July 26!
