The live telecast of CNN Heroes 2012 took place last night at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles which honored heroes from different walks of life who have contributed to their communities. Susan Sarandon presented the Hero of the Year award to Nepal’s Pushpa Basnet for her gallant effort in providing food, shelter and care to over 140 children of incarcerated parents. She also won an additional $250,000 grant.
50 Cent was one of the presenters while Ne-Yo performed his song ‘Heroes’ for the audience. Watch the performance as well as Pushpa accepting her award below.
