When the cover of the latest XXL magazine featuring Black Hippy was released, Ab-Soul was quick to criticize it over the use of “Kendrick Lamar & Black Hippy” text on the front, tweeting “If y’all keep printing “Kendrick Lamar & Black Hippy” I will remove myself from the group. Thanks.“
Now in an interview with Montreality, Ab-Soul explains why he tweeted that and clears facts before someone gets the wrong idea. His explanation is understandable but he also has to realize that to sell copies in a dying business, publications have to do their best in presenting the product in the most marketable way possible which in this case would be to use Kendrick’s name since he’s the hot one right now.
In the interview, Ab-Soul also talks about wanting to do a track with Jay Z, video games, cartoons, Kendrick being on Eminem’s MMLP2 and more. In related news, his forthcoming project is not titled Black Lip Pastor anymore.
