Kanye’s 8 Year Old Song ‘Gone’ Makes Top 20 Debut On Billboard Hot 100

The internet is crazy, as we all know and it can make unlikely things happen in no time.

Kanye West’s ‘Gone’ featuring Cam’ron and Consequence which appeared on his sophomore album Late Registration surprisingly debuts at #18 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week, thanks to a viral YouTube video featuring the song as the soundtrack.

The viral clip (watch after the break) is made by and starring Marina Shifrin, a writer and comedian, who quit her job as a video editor and made a video for her boss in which she is dancing around her deserted office at 4.30 in the morning. And the song in question is the 8 year old ‘Gone’. The video has already generated 15 million views with 6.2 million U.S. streams as per Nielsen BDS which tracks them for charting purposes. ‘Gone’ also debuts on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs at No. 6 and Rap Songs at No. 4.

Per Billboard policy, songs showing renewed activity past their initial release cycles are eligible to chart if ranking in the top half of the Hot 100 and genre hybrid rankings.
