Q-Tip Criticizes Kanye For Using Confederate Flag On Yeezus Tour Merch

Kanye West has been under fire lately for sporting the Confederate Flag on some of his Yeezus tour merchandise. During an outing to Barney’s New York store in Beverly Hills, the rapper was seen wearing a green utility jacket with the controversial flag printed on the right sleeve. Kanye had defended his use of the flag in an interview on Power 106 LA couple of weeks ago:

“The Confederate flag represented slavery in a way. That’s my abstract take on what I know about it, right?. So I wrote the song ‘New Slaves.’ So I took the Confederate flag and made it my flag. It’s my flag now. Now what you gonna do?”

But veteran rapper and producer Q-Tip who is signed to Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Music label has openly criticized ‘Ye over the use of the flag on his merchandise, tweeting “Fuck the confederate flag, I love Kanye no shots but my people continue to suffer psychologically from hardships that happened under that banner.”
