Yesterday, Rick Ross released his new single ‘The Devil Is A Lie‘ featuring Jay Z to a positive response (Although I didn’t like it much). The credit for the smooth, sampled beat was given to KE On The Track who also released a making of the beat video later in the day to showcase in brief how he came up with the concept.
But things took a wild turn shortly after as another producer named Major Seven went on his Twitter to claim that he was the real producer of the song and that KE clearly jacked it from him though an unknown medium.
The song is now available on iTunes but we can’t spot either names in the “composer” tab on the song’s info page. It only lists “William Roberts, LeShawn Rogers, Willie McNeal & Shawn Carter”.
Peep Major Seven’s tweets below. What do you think of the situation?
UPDATE: He has talked about the situation in an interview with XXL. Read it in full here.
