Last night, about 40,000 spectators were present at Toronto’s Rogers Centre to celebrate Canada’s athletes and their record-setting 217-medal haul at the Pan Am Games closing ceremony. Canadian singer Serena Ryder and Pitbull were some of the performers at the ceremony before Kanye West headlined it later in the night.
Kanye put up a great show for the audience, performing his past and present hits but around 10 pm, his mic started to give trouble. After 15 seconds of dealing with a faulty mic or perhaps bad audio with the system while he was performing ‘Good Life’, he threw the mic in the sky and walked off the stage without a goodbye, much to the surprise of the crowd.
CBC Olympics later called it a “technical error”. Watch some footage of the incident below.
UPDATE: Official word from #TO2015 on Kanye's mic issues: "Technical error." #CBCPanAm #closingceremony
