While two people were shot and injured outside J. Cole’s concert in New Jersey last night, similar turn of events occurred at the after party for Drake’s OVO Fest 2015.
The two people who were shot, however, were pronounced dead at the hospital. One was in his 20s while the other was in 30s. The incident happened at the OVO Fest official after party at the Muzik nightclub on CNE grounds on Dufferin St. shortly before 3:30 a.m. Toronto Police Superintendent Frank Bergen, of 14 Division, told media that “this is a sporadic shooting that did occur just before 3:30 this morning at 15 Saskatchewan. It’s the Muzik Nightclub. A well-run event with lots of police officers in and around the area, culminating on a large evening event that occurred over at the OVO Festival.”
Authorities said three people were also injured and there are other victims as well. Those asking assistance or that have new information can come forward by calling Homicide, Crime Stoppers or 14 Div. at 416 808 1400.
This is the second year in a row that a shooting has taken place connected to the OVO Fest after-party at Muzik.
