Wiz Khalifa ‘See You Again’ Becomes First Hip-Hop Video To Reach 1 Billion Views on YouTube

Wiz Khalifa dominated the Pop charts again this year with his smash hit ‘See You Again’ featuring Charlie Puth, which was taken from the soundtrack to the film Fast & Furious 7. It came his second #1 on Billboard Hot 100 following ‘Black & Yellow’ in 2011.

The music video, which doubles as a Paul Walker tribute, has reached the milestone of 1 billion views on YouTube. It is currently at 1,004,350,672 views, thus becoming the first Hip-Hop video to achieve the big feat. You could argue that Korean artist Psy, who leads the chart of most watched videos with over 2 billion views on ‘Gangnam Style’, is a rapper but we really don’t consider it as “Hop-Hop”, do we?

Here’s a list of most watched videos of all time on YouTube as on October 7, 2015:

1. PSY – ‘Gangnam Style’ 2,426,500,822
2. Justin Bieber – ‘Baby’ 1,219,883,321
3. Taylor Swift – ‘Blank Space’ 1,188,147,147
4. Katy Perry – ‘Dark Horse’ 1,121,919,001
5. Katy Perry – ‘Roar’ 1,085,316,510
