Yasiin Bey aka Mos Def has run into legal trouble in Cape Town, South Africa.

The rapper has been living in the city since 2013 but has overstayed in the country without the necessary travel documents, according to the Department of Home Affairs. He was arrested at Cape Town International Airport after he presented an unrecognized “world passport” on January 9 which was declined by immigration officials and hence detained.

The department said the rapper’s wife, mother and four children, had stayed in the country too long and were now staying here illegally. He was arrested on charge of illegal travel documents and the matter is currently before the courts. His family has been given two weeks to leave the country.
