on Wednesday, TIP was in New York for a recording at a studio when he joined thousands of other people who had gathered on the streets of Manhattan to protest Donald Trump’s election to the President’s office.
He made a trip to Jimmy Kimmel Live! to discuss why he took the decision to protest. “When I look at my kids in the eyes after this thing takes place — I voted and did everything I could have done prior to now — but after the decision of the election that happened, I just want to be able to look my kids in the eyes and make sure they know I did everything that the Constitution allows me to do to show my objection to this decision,” said TIP.
He also discussed changing his stage name from T.I. to TIP and explained the well known reason behind it — his original name was TIP itself but he changed it to avoid confusion with Q-Tip who was his label mate at the time. Watch the interview below.
