ASAP Rocky’s screen presence is something that attracts brands and it’s no surprise that a company like Mercedes-Benz has recruited the rapper for their latest campaign titled Grow up: Get a job.
In the commercial, Rocky reminiscences over his elder brother Ricky who was murdered when Flacko was just a small kid. “Growing up, I had this beat stuck in my head. No matter what, I could never really get it out. I guess when you young, you could be anything you want to choose, but as you get older, all of those options start to narrow and before you know it, every choice you make comes with a consequence. Whenever sh*t got rough, this beat was always there. But one day, man, the beat just stopped,” narrates the Harlem rapper as old images flash through the screen.
The ad shows how his elder brother encouraged him to get up and pursue his passions: “My older brother Ricky is responsible for me growing up and having a real job.” Watch the commercial below.
