Pharrell loves to do things outside of music and after the success of the film Hidden Figures, he’s now producing a musical based on his own life.
Titled Atlantis, the musical is being described as a “Romeo and Juliet style story” with a music element, inspired by Pharrell’s childhood in Virginia Beach. Pharrell and co-producer Gil Netter’s pitch to FOX was confirmed last week, according to The Hollywood Repoter. Michael Mayer, known for his Broadway work on Spring Awakening, will be directing the project while Martin Hynes, who is currently writing Toy Story 4, is set to write Atlantis.
There is currently no release date set but let’s hope this come to fruition soon. Pharrell is arguably one of the best producers of all time so a musical on his life will be interesting to say the least.
