There have already been a lot of opinions over Faith Evans releasing a posthumous duet album with her late husband The Notorious B.I.G. The album was promised to feature never heard before Biggie verses but till now, we have only heard familiar bars on ‘When We Party‘ featuring Snoop Dogg and ‘NYC‘ with Jadakiss.
The latest song ’10 Wife Commandments’ flips the classic Biggie drug anthem ’10 Track Commandments’ and is bound to receive come criticism. This was the first song Faith worked on when she started the The King and I project. “Excited and optimistic about the new deal and the opportunity to bring my idea to life, I started looking for Big’s a capellas on YouTube while in Detroit rehearsing with my band. With ‘Ten Crack Commandments’ being one of the songs I had always wanted to redo, I found it and got to work! It took a few different sessions to get the commandments to be meaningful and clever, but I do feel these are points that both men and women can appreciate,” she told Rollingstone.
The King & I, featuring appearances from Lil Kim, Jadakiss, Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg, Styles P and more will hit stores May 19, two days before Biggie’s birthday.
