Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Humble‘ has blown up for real. The song, which debuted just over a week ago, has debuted at the number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week.
Industry forecasters were projecting the song to debut inside the top 3 with an outside chance to even hit the #1 spot but it hasn’t been successful in upsetting Ed Sheeran’s smash hit ‘Shape of You’. K.Dot’s viral song managed to sell 111k copies on digital stores while raking up 49.8 million streams in the U.S. alone.
‘Humble.’ is also the first Rap song to debut as high as No. 2 on the Hot 100 in nearly seven years. The last one to do it was Eminem’s ‘Love the Way You Lie’ featuring Rihanna in July, 2010. This is Kendrick’s highest charting as a lead artist as well. His new album arrives on April 14th.
