Zaytoven Says He Doesn’t Spend More Than 10 Minutes on Making A Beat

Remember that line, “you can’t rush greatness”?

Atlanta producer Zaytoven recently stopped by Shade 45 to talk to the hosts of Sway In The Morning Show. He spoke on his come up, his big break, how he was discovered by JT the Bigga Figga in High School, working with Gucci Mane, Mike WiLL Made It and Metro Boomin’s come up, and more.

Zay also broke down his beat making process and makes a shocking revelation (at the 19:45 mark) that he doesn’t spend more than 10 minutes on any beat he makes, including all elements like chords, drums etc. The hit maker says music is a feeling and if he spends more time on a beat than that, it means he isn’t feeling it and it isn’t meant to be. He got into that habit working with Gucci Mane since the rapper himself doesn’t spend too much time knocking out a song. We wonder how other producers feel about this?

Zaytoven is currently working on his debut album. He recently released the first single ‘East Atlanta Day‘ featuring Gucci Mane and 21 Savage.
