2 Chainz is readying the release of his new album Pretty Girls Like Trap Music which is hitting stores next week on June 16th. His latest stop was Everyday Struggle show on Complex where he dropped tons of gems for one straight hour.
2 Chainz spoke a bit about his album and numerous guests on it like Nicki Minaj, Drake and Pharrell. He also discussed having more music coming soon after this album, which we already know. Chainz went way back to his Tity Boi days and revealed how he came up in the game and the method he adopted in order to leave Ludacris’ DTP Records, why it’s important to know the business side of music, Future’s success encouraging him to go harder, difference between New York and Atlanta artists and much more.
2 Chainz also discussed not caring much about counting his bars. “I didn’t know a line where a line ended,” said Tity Boi about not knowing how to count bars early in his career. He then credited Lil Wayne with giving him the confidence about not adhering to the traditional rap song structure of bars and hooks. Watch the full interview below.
