Trick Daddy attacked Meek Mill for disrespecting Miami the other day. The issue seemed to stem from Meek’s interview with Ebro In The Morning on Hot 97. During that chat, Meek had said that young people from Miami were influenced by him about wanting to party on yachts and owning expensive cars, rather than live a life surrounded by guns and drugs.
Meek has finally reacted to Trick’s very public shots. In an interview with Cosmic Kev on Power 99, Meek said (9:45 mark) it was unfortunate that he went on Instagram to air his grievance rather than come to him directly to sort it out. “I come from Philadelphia, all our OGs, they don’t get on Instagram where we’re from. If they wanna say something to somebody, they get in contact with them and say it, especially when it’s that type of anger,” said the Dreamchasers rapper. “This goes out to everyone in the rap industry, from hereon till a thousand years, I will always be handled with respect in live person,” he gave a warning out.
Meek also addressed his past issues with Drake and whether he thinks he took an L in his breakup with Nicki Minaj. Meek said that a breakup is always an L no matter what and that he’s not going to dislike her music just because they’re not together anymore (25:20 mark). He gave the example of her collab with Yo Gotti, ‘Rake It Up‘ that’s moving up the charts right now. Meek also indirectly addressed vibing and listening to Drake’s music: “Just coz we gotta rap beef going on, it don’t mean we ain’t gon vibe to your music.” Watch the full interview below.
