Jay-Z Pays Tribute to Chester Bennington With ‘Numb/Encore’ at V Fest

The loss of Chester Bennington from Linkin Park affected millions of people worldwide, may of them being Hip-Hop fans. Jay-Z paid tribute to the singer during his V Festival set Saturday night in the UK with a rare performance of ‘Numb/Encore’. The song appeared on the rapper’s critically acclaimed collaborative project Collision Course with Linkin Park in 2004. It has been certified double platinum since then.

“Can you guys light it up tonight for Chester?” Jay-Z told the Stafford, England audience. “Linkin Park, one time, tonight. Please make some noise so he can hear you all the way in heaven tonight!” The V Festival set was Jay-Z’s first full performance of this year. Watch Jay’s tribute below but excuse the quality of audio.

Yesterday, Hov appeared on the Rap Radar podcast for his first interview since the release of 4:44.
