Miguel Talks Reconnecting with J. Cole in The Studio: “he was on guitar”

Miguel and J. Cole have established a great chemistry together over the years, already delivering hits like ‘All I Want Is You’ and ‘Power Trip’. The two got back together for a remix version of the singer’s track ‘Come Through And Chill’ which appears on his new album War & Leisure, dropping December 1.

Miguel has been on the promo run for his new album. He made a stop at Beats 1 studio in L.A. to talk with Ebro about the new album, the meaning behind the title, various collaborations on it, working on Travis Scott on the hit ‘Sky Walker‘, and reconnecting with J. Cole.

During the conversation, Miguel revealed (at the 8:30 mark) that Cole has been playing the guitar lately. “The last we really connected in the studio was in Santa Monica. Cole was on guitar, he might be mad, I wouldn’t show you the video, but he was really playing the guitar,” Miguel told the host. “On a lot of levels Cole is like a brother in all of this. He knows he can hit me for unbiased opinions. Not that he ever would need that, but he knows I’m a resource of unbiased opinion and vice versa, and I’ve definitely leaned on him in that way before. We had those friends where it’s like what do you think about this? and there’s people you trust and it’s real rare. He’s someone I’m grateful for beyond the music,” continued the singer.
