Kendrick Lamar and TDE have certainly struck Gold with the Black Panther soundtrack which they executive produced.
The lead single ‘All The Stars‘ with Kendrick and SZA has entered the Top 10 of Billboard Hot 100 (number 9) while the album sold 125k copies in the second week, making it stay at top of Billboard 200 album chart. With the sales total nearly 300k already, the album is now projected to do another big number in its third week which will make sure it stays on top of the chart for another seven days.
The set, which features music from and inspired by the blockbuster Marvel Studios film Black Panther, features guest appearances from Travis Scott, The Weeknd, SZA, Khalid and James Blake, among others. In an interview with BBC Radio 1 yesterday, Kendrick mentioned that he would love to have a role in the sequel to the film.
The top debut on the Billboard 200 this week is expected to come from 6ix9ine whose album Day69 is projected to move 50-60k copies in the first week.
