The Weeknd Picks ‘Call Out My Name’ As Lead Single from ‘My Dear Melancholy’ EP

 

The Weeknd released his six song EP My Dear Melancholy this past Friday with hardly any notice to fans. It is an unusual strategy for a high profile artist like Abel to be releasing something like an EP but word is that he has two more similar projects on the way soon.

The EP is set to move more than 150k copies in the first week and comfortably debut at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 200. But The Weeknd has a single plan in place too. The opening song on the EP, ‘Call Out My Name’, is being treated as the lead single for streaming services, radio and other platforms, HHNM can confirm. The singer even released a “vertical” video for the track as a Spotify exclusive shortly after the EP became available on all platforms.

‘Call Out My Name’ has also scored the highest opening debut of 2018 on Spotify with 3.5 million streams registered in the first 24 hours. This is already a hit.
