Playboi Carti released his new album Die Lit this past Friday via AWGE/Interscope Records without much notice to fans. The set features contributions from Nicki Minaj, Lil Uzi Vert, Skpeta, Bryson Tiller, Chief Keef, Young Thug and more.
Not nay have liked the album (including me personally) but that doesn’t mean the fans aren’t consuming it. Die Lit is projected to move 65k copies in the first week including streams, according to HDD. About 5-6k out of that total is expected to come from pure sales. This number should be enough to put Carti in the top 5 on this week’s Billboard chart update.
Tee Grizzley’s Activated is the other new Hip-Hop release which is on course to move about 30k and debut around the number 10 mark. Post Malone on the other hand will rule the chart at number 1 for the third week in a row with his sophomore album beerbongs & bentleys set to move another 140k.
