J Prince Advised Drake Against Releasing “Career Ending” Response To Pusha T & Kanye

The Drake-Pusha T saga continues to take interesting turns, even though the world is still waiting on the Toronto superstar to release his response to Pusha T’s disrespectful diss ‘The Story of Adidon‘.

Yesterday, J. Prince, the CEO of Houston-based Rap-a-Lot Records, revealed that he called Drake and asked him not to respond to Pusha T because the beef was going a way it shouldn’t. Today morning in an interview with Sway In The Morning show on Shade 45, J. Prince expanded on his view on the beef and gave out some interesting behind the scenes information.

When asked about why he advised Drizzy not to release the track, J. Prince said the response was so disrespectful that it would have ended Pusha T and Kanye’s careers. “After speaking with Kanye, I spoke with the brother, and he didn’t want this. I saw this going to a place that I feel would have ended his career if Drake would’ve put out this song that he had on him,” Prince told Sway. “And definitely would’ve hurt families and we’re not in it for that. That’s not Drake’s character to tear a man down to that extent.”

Sway then asked J. Prince to confirm if a response exists. He answered in the affirmative. “Oh no doubt about it. The ingredients were overwhelming. I know for a fact that it would’ve been bad for Kanye and my man [Pusha T]. It wouldn’t have been good, it’s beyond music at that point. It’s gonna affect the livelihood, it’s gonna interfere with his entire lifestyle from that day forward.”

He then added that he doesn’t think the song will come out because Drake gave him his word that he won’t release it. Listen to two snippets of the interview above and check back later for the full version.
