Kanye West has done it again. His eighth studio album ye has topped the Billboard 200, tying the record for the most consecutive #1 album debuts in chart history.
The seven song project amassed a total of 180 million on-demand streams in its debut week, and reached a total album equivalent of 208,000 units. ye’s tracks shot to the top of the Spotify Global chart upon release, and reached #1 in 83 countries on Apple Music.
Last week, Kanye updated the opening song on the album, ‘I Thought About Killing You’ with a new slavery-referenced lyric. This past Friday, Kanye also released a joint album with Kid Cudi, Kids See Ghosts.
