The count of R.Kelly’s abuse accusers keeps going up the day. The latest person to come forward is his ex-wife, Andrea Kelly.
Earlier this month, she broke her silence on the physical abuse she suffered in the relationship. The dancer/choreographer, who was married to the singer from 1996-2009 had been silent so far on the allegations that Kelly has been keeping a group of young women in an alleged “sex cult.” Andrea is also the mother of his three children. Speaking to TV One’s Sister Circle daytime talk show, she opened up about the fact that the singer abused her throughout their 13-year marriage.
Now speaking with Inside Edition, Andrea has revealed that the home they shared in Chicago turned from a mansion to a prison. “I often say I spent 10 years being married, but I don’t know what it’s like to be a wife,” she said. “What was supposed to be my big beautiful mansion ultimately became my prison,” she continued. She said that other women coming forward accusing R. Kelly of abuse have inspired her to share her truth.
Andrea then recalled an incident where R. Kelly physically restrained her against her will. “I was tied up and left on the side of the bed, and he went to sleep.” Calling him “definitely a monster,” she echoed the statements of other women that she was required to call him “Daddy.” Watch the clip below.
