Drake’s new album Scorpion is out right now on digital stores and streaming platforms only but soon that will change.
Scorpion will hit stores in CD format starting July 13, HHNM has learned. A lot of stores lately have shut down their CD operations but fans will be able to pick up a copy of Drizzy’s blockbuster at those who still do the business. You can pre-order a copy of Scorpion on Amazon right now. As previously announced and reflected on streaming services, it’s a double disc album which means the price is higher than usual too, at $18. Above is a screenshot of the album on CD.
It has become a norm these days to release an album only digitally to begin with and then make the physical formats available a week or two later. This helps the artist and their labels avoid a leak online as CD manufacturing units no longer get access to the albums days or weeks in advance. No access means no chance of a leak from that channel.
Earlier tonight, Drake updated a few parts of Scorpion on streaming services — the biggest change being new Lil Wayne vocals added to the standout track ‘In My Feelings’. We previously reported that Jay-Z and Beyonce’s Everything is Love will also be available in CD format on July 6.
