UPDATE (Oct. 5): The final numbers for the week are in. Logic manages to snatch the #2 spot on the charts and sells 173,472 copies of YSIV with a massive 128,806 of those being pure sales. This is a huge upgrade from the original projection of 100k.
UPDATE (Oct. 1): The sales projections for the week have been updated and YSIV sees an increase. Logic is battling Cher for the #2 spot with projections of 145k–155k with 105k–115k of those being pure sales. At the moment, it looks like he’ll place 3rd.
Previous story:
Logic released his new album Young Sinatra 4 (stylized as YSIV) on Friday, the same day Lil Wayne finally dropped his long awaited Tha Carter V album. The competition is stiff so how are they performing?
As we noted earlier, Weezy’s C5 is projected to move approximately 500k copies in the first week which will give him a comfortable spot on top of the Billboard 200 next week. Logic was being seen as a close competitor to Wayne and Kanye (when he does release his new album YANDHI) but HDD projects YSIV to move 90-110k copies only in the opening week with 45-55k out of that coming from pure sales.
we’re releasing Yandhi Saturday night
We know it will come in number 2 to my brother Lil Wayne and that’s lovely
The universe needs Ye and Wayne music at the same time

Kanye tweeted that he was confident of coming in at number 2 to Wayne (thereby beating Logic) and looks like his prediction might just hold true. Logic’s current projections are disappointing, given that his last album Everybody did 247k in the first week. Even his last project, the retail mixtape Bobby Tarantino II did 119k.
