Jay-Z is now a billionaire, if we are to believe Forbes‘ latest report on the rapper’s worth.
Forbes has detailed his various money making ventures including music which he wholly owns, art collection, streaming service TIDAL, label & management company Roc Nation, cognac D’Ussé, investments in real estate and more. They say that it “conservatively totals $1 billion, making him one of only a handful of entertainers to become a billionaire—and the first hip-hop artist to do so.”
Swizz Beatz, Jay-Z’s good friend and producer of many of his hits, says: “It’s bigger than hip-hop … it’s the blueprint for our culture. A guy that looks like us, sounds like us, loves us, made it to something that we always felt that was above us.”
