Lil Nas X Announces Break From Music; Cancels 2 Festival Performances

Lil Nas X has had a crazy and unexpected year where he broke the record for the longest running number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with his mega hit ‘Old Town Road’.

This week, he has two songs inside the top 10 of the chart, with his followup ‘Panini’ jumping to the #5 spot. But looks like it’s been a little exhausting too for the young singer-rapper. Nas X took to Twitter to announce that he has decided to take a break and slow things down for a bit. “It’s been a wild last 7 months and im ready to take a little time off,” he said.

Along with that, he also informed fans that he won’t be performing at the scheduled Twitchcon and Sandbox music festivals. “Sorry to everyone attending twitchcon or the sandbox music festival, i will not be there. i love u guys and will make it up to you some way,” he continued.

The 20 year old recently performed ‘Panini’ on The Ellen Show. Watch it below. In related news, Fiona Apple recently called out Lil Nas X over him owing her royalties for an un-cleared sample of her 2012 song ‘Every Single Night‘, on his song ‘Kim Jong‘.
